The Kopi Dalar Story

From an office pantry to Japan — a journey of love for coffee.

01

How It Began

2018

In 2018, David Layardi started brewing coffee for colleagues in the office pantry. Not for profit — just to share a good cup. From there, 'Kopi Dalar' was born: 'kopi' plus the nickname 'Dalar'.

02

Across to Japan

In October 2025, Kopi Dalar officially opened a new chapter — from Indonesia to the world, with the first chapter in Japan. The rounded brown logo — the 'o' in 'kopi' as a cup with rising beans — was designed by colleague Theo in about an hour, March 2020. 'An investment in whimsy,' he called it.
